The arts at F&M. Yes, we have the arts. Culture, too. Across the F&M campus
you will find more than enough museums, galleries, theaters, speakers,
musicians, filmmakers, photographers, and the like to keep your right
brain alive and happy throughout your four years with us.
It starts with facilities. At F&M, we don't push the envelope of creativity, we obliterate
it. And it begins by providing students and faculty with the best possible
facilities and resources. Whether you're interested in studio art, music, theater, film, dance…you'll find everything you need
at the Phillips Museum of Art, the Roschel Performing Arts Center, the
Barshinger Center for Musical Arts, and the many theaters, halls, studios,
and galleries housed in those buildings.
Facilities are great and all. What really matters, however, is what goes on inside them.
That's where Encore, our semi-annual calendar of arts events,
comes in. Through Encore, we schedule dozens of film screenings,
concerts, art exhibits, lectures, plays, dance productions, seminars,
and colloquia every semester. The works featured include those of our
own students and faculty, as well as some of the most acclaimed artists
around the world.
Of course, the
only way to really experience F&M is to visit. But, since we’re
fairly certain you’re not here now, the next best thing is by taking
advantage of our virtual tour and visit planner. You’ve probably
seen these before, but ours is as cool as they come.
