We know. A huge factor in determining where you'll go to college is
where that experience and degree will take you later in life. Though
we don't like to brag, we are simply among the finest liberal arts colleges
in America. An F&M degree commands respect from businesses, companies,
corporations, and organizations around the world, as well as the country's
elite graduate programs.
It's in the numbers. In terms of graduate outcomes and placement, the numbers are
staggering. There's really no other way to put it. F&M graduates
are doing incredible things in the world. They're in boardrooms, operating
rooms, and courtrooms. They're researchers, teachers, and politicians
of the highest caliber. Consider this:
F&M ranks in the top seven percent of nearly
1,300 colleges and universities (including all major research institutions)
in the percentage of graduates who received doctorates between 1991
and 2000
92 percent of F&M students who applied to medical
school were accepted to at least one of their selected schools; the
national acceptance rate was 52 percent
90 percent of applying seniors are admitted to law
school in a typical year
F&M ranks 14th out of 111 highly
selective liberal arts colleges in the number of graduates who are
executives and directors of major corporations
And, we've got connections. As an elite liberal arts college, we are a member of the Selective Liberal Arts Consortium.
The Consortium combines the recruiting efforts of 12 of America's finest
liberal arts colleges (Bryn Mawr, Carleton, Davidson, Dickinson, Franklin
& Marshall, Grinnell, Haverford, Kenyon, Oberlin, Pomona, Vassar
and Washington & Lee), and coordinates interview days with major
companies, corporations, and organizations, as well as the nation's
top graduate and professional schools. These interview days take place
in Boston, Chicago, New York, Philadelphia, and Washington, D.C. It's
where, quite literally, the best meet the best.
Of course, the
only way to really experience F&M is to visit. But, since we’re
fairly certain you’re not here now, the next best thing is by taking
advantage of our virtual tour and visit planner. You’ve probably
seen these before, but ours is as cool as they come.
